Splash Simulation
Splash has been giving me fits. I was originally working in Realflow - but found out I couldn't get my stuff back into Maya. I then tried to do an actual fluid simulation using nParticles. It's basically unbearably slow and still looks like crap. A new method is now possible since now the splash is happening slightly off camera. Will be doing that while I wait for Pixar to reply to my Slim issues!
Updated fluid
I've learned some new things about managing fluids, so I decided to do a quick rehash of this simulation since it's basically all up in the camera. Here is the new and improved fart fluid simulation.

Ripples
This is the ripple simulation for the tadpole. Almost final sets got in today - so this bad boy is going to get expanded over the next week. In the meantime - I have been working on getting this and the fluid simulations to render in PRman. Not an easy task when Maya Fluids aren't supported!

Showing the issues we have been having with shadow maps. We were about to scale the whole animation up (what a nightmare) when I remembered the focus attribute on shadow maps. Whew!
I should note - the light is not getting brighter from step to step - it's actually less and less self-shadowing that causes this.

Gas Fog Test
Test to get fluids with guided motion with a Maya Fluid. Needs more little swirls and eddies, but overall motion seems to be controllable. Hopefully when scaled up it will still be directable.
